HISTORY
A stunning venue dating back to 1817
Turkish baths have sat in Bishopgate’s Churchyard for two centuries. The new Bath House first saw light of day in 1895. Designed by G Harold Elphick, this new bath-house used tessellating Arabic motifs in classic colours. Crafted to appeal to the city gent, the venue was an instant hit in the daily broadsheets. Marble-floored hot rooms, mosaics and even gilt-edged décor set the bath-house interior apart, with stained glass and rich oriental rugs finishing the picture. With a number of various utility rooms offering shampooing and steaming, any patron would emerge from its confines groomed to perfection.

Do you allow ceremonies in the venue and if so is there a ceremony fee?
Unfortunately, we don’t have a wedding license at Victorian Bath House, but we’d be happy to recommend a few places for your ceremony nearby.
Do we have to use your caterers?
All catering is done internally through our chefs, however if you require external catering for cultural or religious reasons we can offer dry hire – costings vary throughout the year so please let us know and we will be happy to help.
Do you charge corkage?
Yes, price available upon request.
Do you provide a wedding coordinator on the day?
You will be allocated a dedicated wedding planner. They will arrange planning meetings and menu tastings with you in the lead up to the big day. During these meetings you will meet the operations team at the venue, and they will run your event on the day.
What is the capacity for the building?
We can accommodate the following capacities:
150 guests for a standing reception.
90 guests for a seated dinner.
Please bear in mind that these capacities may vary depending on additional AV and Production you may require.

Unfortunately we don’t have any parking available at the venue. Speak to a member of our team to find out about car parks nearby.
Do you hold more than one event at the same time?
No. Victorian Bath House is always hired exclusively so you can use the spaces as you wish without the concern of another event running alongside yours.
